Families
Soccer practice, doctors appointments, long hours at work, bills to pay, homework to supervise, arguments to referee, dinner to cook, gas in the car, new tennis shoes for the 10 year old...the list is endless.
There are countless happy memories and joyous times in a family, yet as the responsibilities increase with each year and the pressures of parenting become all consuming, just one more thing on the list can throw an otherwise thriving home into a tailspin.
I have worked with a families of all kinds facing problems invited into the home by divorce and/or remarriage, substance abuse, educational challenges, illness or death of a loved one, just to name a few. Taking a stand against a problem can be difficult when expectations of handling it on your own require an stance of "what happens at home, stays at home". I will bring curiosity to the situation hoping to uncover the tricks and maneuvers of the problem in the life of your family. Sometimes an outside observer can ask the questions to open up space to lessen the influence of the problem you're up against.
